Cornerstone Communications: Knockin’ em Back for a Good Cause 2nd Annual "Bowling Ball" Benefits CancerCare for Kids®

The battle for the title of "Epicurean All-Stars" at Cornerstone Communications’ Second Annual "Bowling Ball" raised nearly $3,000 to benefit CancerCare for Kids® on Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Members of the wine, media, and fashion industries laced up their bowling shoes, donned matching jerseys, and whipped out their best moves to support CancerCare at 300 Bowling Lanes at Chelsea Piers.

As with last year, competition was stiff. Returning champions, the Wine Spectator "Wild Turkeys", took home the Gold Medal for the highest team score. Adams Beverage Journal "Marauders" and Good Housekeeping "Red Hot Housekeepers" took Silver and Bronze, respectively. The well-deserved Team Spirit award was a tie between Liz Claiborne’s two teams, "Monet String of Pearls" and "Monet Rolling Rocks".

Cornerstone Communications President Marsha Palanci commented, "Based on the enthusiasm from this year’s twelve participating teams, it was clear that philanthropy and having a rip-roaring good time are not mutually exclusive activities. Cornerstone Communications is proud to sponsor this annual event to raise funds and awareness for such a worthwhile charity."
