Institute Of Masters Of Wine AnnouncesMontes Winery Inaugural Scholarship Winner: Isabelle Legeron

In its continued its quest for excellence in wine production, Montes Winery, together with the Institute of Masters of Wine, is delighted to announce London native Isabelle Legeron as the winner of the inaugural Montes Winery Scholarship.

This first annual scholarship, consisting of a US$ 10,000 travel bursary, will enable Isabelle to travel to Chile, to visit Montes and other premium wine producers in the region, and to further her knowledge about this diverse and viticulturally exciting country.

Isabelle, a Master of Wine candidate, grew up in Cognac, France and now lives in London. She runs her own wine consultancy business, Wine Lab, through which she provides wine education and entertainment. Isabelle also presents regularly on television shows including her own series, “Journey into Wine” for the UK Travel Channel.

Upon learning of her receipt of this scholarship, Isabelle said, “I am thrilled and honored to be the first recipient of this extremely generous scholarship from Montes. I have never been to Chile, so I am truly delighted to have such an amazing opportunity to discover such a diverse, exciting and quality-driven region.”

Siobhan Turner, Executive Director of the Institute of Masters of Wine, said “We are very grateful to Montes for contributing such a stimulating, thought-provoking scholarship. Isabelle is an excellent choice as winner, and we are sure that the knowledge she gains in Chile will further inform her Master of Wine studies.”
