Wines from Italy’s Alto Adige Region Bring Blast of Alpine Air to San Francisco

A refreshing blast of Alpine air swept through San Francisco recently thanks to the Alto Adige wine seminar and grand tasting at the city’s Four Seasons Hotel. Members of the wine industry and media flocked to the tasting hosted by Italy’s northernmost wine region. Home to a blend of Alpine and Mediterranean cultures, the Alto Adige region is not lacking in diversity as the tasting demonstrated, with 19 producers pouring over 200 wines.

Vinitaly, the international tradeshow for wines and spirits, will once again be held at the Verona Exhibition Center from Thursday, April 3 to Monday, April 7, 2008. Wine is the focus of this five-day show and Verona will become the meeting point for wine experts from around the world.

Members of the wine industry and media flocked to the Alto Adige tasting on February 26th at the Puck Building in the city’s trendy Soho neighborhood. Nearly 400 attendees fell in love with wines from this northernmost Italian wine region, home to a unique blend of Alpine and Mediterranean cultures.
